‘The Mentalist’ season 7 spoilers: The latest progress report from filming
So how far along is “The Mentalist” season 7 as of right now? It has been a while since we provided an update, but we are at least pleased to say that progress for the time being is definitely being made.
Based on a number of sources around set, Simon Baker and company have wrapped up the second episode, and are now getting into the third. Given that this season, which may or may not be the show’s last, is only 13 episodes long, this means that we will be close to a quarter of the way through the season when this one wraps up.
Plot-wise, the producers are doing a good job of keeping things under wraps save for the collection of stories that we have shared throughout the summer about departures, arrivals, and promotions.
- One recurring character from last season is now a series regular.
- Meanwhile, Emily Swallow has basically confirmed that her character of Kim Fischer will not be back for more of the story.
- Finally, we are going to see Morena Baccarin of “Homeland” / “Firefly” fame reprise her previous role on the show, and will almost surely be a thorn in Jane and Lisbon’s side.
Given where we saw the two characters wrap up the story after the end of last season, it’s fair to say that these two as a couple will be a significant story for almost the entire year. Will they work out, and will Jane try to take the next step by the time the season ends? Both are questions we want answers to.
