‘The Mentalist’ season 7 spoilers: Joe Adler promoted to series regular

The latest -During most of the writing process for “The Mentalist” season 7, there has been by and large an air of radio silence over the proceedings. No one has been particularly keen on sharing too much information, and that is probably a trend that is going to be lasting for a while longer.

With that being said, isn’t it nice to have a little something to share now? According to report from Deadline, Joe Adler, who recurred throughout the second part of the sixth season in the role of computer expert Jason Wylie, is going to be a series regular. This helps to cement that there is another new member of the team, and it also adds another player to make up for the loss of both Rigsby and Van Pelt. Even though the series has already done that in terms of pure numbers with both Kim Fischer and Abbott as a part of the cast.

Even though there is no firm premiere date at the moment for the new season, you are most likely going to find out more information in the months ahead. The filming process is likely to be similar even though the show will most likely not air this fall. This allows for more flexibility on the network standpoint, and if the actors get the inclination that this is the final season, they can then use the spring in order to book some roles in new pilots or on other established series. Given the salaries that Simon Baker and some other longtime cast members make, there may be no hurry to rush into something.
