‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 16 spoilers: ‘The Fosters’ actress to guest star

If there is one show that you probably want to guest star, it has to be “Law & Order: SVU.” It has the richest history of them of any show on TV, and that list adds a few more people with every passing day. You get great recognition, and sometimes  you get a platform to find some other work later.

When it comes to the latest casting news, though, one of the real differences is that this person already has some pretty steady employment. According to TV Guide, Teri Polo of “The Fosters” is set to guest star on the October 1 episode “American Disgrace” as Cordelia, the lawyer daughter of a man well-known for owning a sportwear company (Stacy Keach). What happens to them is something shocking, and firmly within the vein of the show: The face of their entire brand is suspected of being a serial rapist. This “face” is an athlete known as Shakir “The Shark” Wilkins (played by “NYPD Blue” actor Henry Simmons), and the company will have a struggle on their hands trying to figure this one out and seeing how the case unfolds.

We’re sure that there are some who will try to inevitably connect this case to headlines, given that these sort of horrific crimes do happen far too often. However, we don’t see this one as trying to piggyback off of any individual case in the modern world. It’s organic, and this is a serious issue that we could see a company having. We have seen terrible things similar to this in the past, including what happened with Michael Vick’s sponsors after the dog-fighting charges.
