‘America’s Got Talent’ results: Are Quintavious Jackson, Kelli Glover, Smoothini safe?

America's Got Talent -Tonight, “America’s Got Talent” had its final results show of this round in the competition … and there were some sad (but predictable) results in the end.

Why do we say this? It’s mostly just because of the general rule that America seems to love singers at all costs, even over some pretty unique and interesting acts.

Emil & Daniel – The first act through was not a singer! Rather, they are great musicians who have potential to do all sorts of awesome performances moving forward.

Jonah Smith – Really? Jonah gave a pretty ho-hum performance, but he’s a singer … even a singer who didn’t have a lot of screen time in the prior episodes of the show before last night. Obviously, being able to carry a tune is a premium on what was a pretty weak episode overall.

Quinvaious Jackson – Here is a case of a singer who was an obvious pick. We hated the song choice and we never want to hear “And I Am Telling You I Am Not Going” ever again on reality TV, but there’s no doubting his talent.

Smoothini – This one made us reasonably pleased. We really like him as a magic act, and actually blame his performance on Tuesday night on production just as much as anything that he did.

Kelli Glover – No big shocker here, either. Kelli has a lot of talent, but this does make 60% of the advancing acts singers, and she went on over some other good acts. Jury is out on this one.
