Matt Carter takes ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, challenges Kurt Sutter, Bryan Fuller, Curtis Armstrong
Since we posted all weekend about various people in the television world doing the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, why not go for it ourselves?
Earlier today, CarterMatt Co-Founder and Editor-in-Chief Matt Carter took part with a bucket of ice water (complete with cubes shaped like “Portal’s” Companion Cubes), and you can see the entire video for it below. The best way to sum up the experience? Cold, but for a good cause. These videos from celebrities to every day people have already raised millions of dollars for ALS charities, and an organization that we would personally recommend for others to donate is Project ALS. It’s a rare case of the internet being able to come together for a worthy cause; huzzah!
As is the common practice for this challenge, we’ve also challenged three people to take part in this, as well. What’s the theme? Showrunners / executive producers! These three are some of our favorites, and we’ve covered their shows extensively over the past couple of years.
- Kurt Sutter, executive producer of “Sons of Anarchy.”
- Bryan Fuller, executive producer of “Hannibal.”
- Curtis Armstrong, co-host and executive producer of “King of the Nerds.”
The Ice Bucket Challenge has become a huge sensation over the past week or so, and who knows what sort of shelf life it has moving forward. The fact that it has blown up to the level it has is pretty incredible, and we’d just like to see it last a little while longer so that more money is raised and attention is brought to the cause.
Of course, we’ll have more coverage of all of these shows as we get closer to their respective premieres, and we may cover the responses of the three mentioned in the event they accept the challenge.
