‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 16 spoilers: See Mariska Hargitay in first promo
For those of you who had the opportunity to watch a repeat of “Law & Order: SVU” on Saturday, you were treated to a rather nice gift at the end of it: A brand-new season 16 promo that shows more of Mariska Hargitay’s Benson as a mom, and prepares you for what should be a very different season than what the show has done before.
While we would not say that this is anything particularly spoiler-worthy about this teaser, it is at least still nice to have it on the internet … and for us to get closer to the Wednesday, September 24 premiere date. Then again, though, it is not exactly like there is anything that substantial out there for the show to even spoil (at least when it comes to this character) if they really wanted to. The season ended in a way that allowed for some reasonable closure for Benson, and it’s not a William Lewis situation where you are waiting for something shocking or brutal to happen next.
With that being said, we more than anticipate a few longer storylines to be introduced further in the premiere, in addition to some of the trademark standalone cases. Sixteen years in, we personally imagine that the biggest challenge is probably just trying to find a way to introduce a new story that has not been fully played out just yet.
One other thing that you can count on over the course of season 16 is some further crossover events. We had that last year with “Chicago PD” and “Chicago Fire,” and that will continue.

Unfortunately, there are many slow news days. Let’s hope that the writers are coming up with lots of innovative ideas to make this season as good as season 15. it will be interesting to see where they go with Amanda Rollins this year. How long can the relationship with Det. Amaro last? How long do we(the viewers) really want it to last? How much higher would the expectations of we(the viewers) be if Donal Logue was going to be in charge again this year? He will certainly be missed. it’s great that everyone is back to work. Let’s hope that everyone got plenty of rest.

Cackling at the predictability of Warren and his staff’s writing. Duh the baby is ok because he just tweeted a picture of Mariska filming with it on their first day back last week. YAWNING. And you once again think washed up SVU news is breaking news.
