‘Arrow’ season 3 spoilers: Meet the show’s Manhunter!
“Arrow” is not done just yet when it comes to casting prominent characters from the DC universe. You already know that The Atom and Wildcat are coming to the show in some form this coming season; now, you can also add Manhunter to the mix.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, David Cubitt of “Medium” fame has been tapped to appear starting in the third episode of the season as Mark Shaw, the man who eventually becomes one iteration of the character. (Note that this is not Martian Manhunter, which is another extremely popular member of the DC world.) When we see him on the show, he is to be an ARGUS operative in Corto Maltese, an island in South America which also happens to be the title for the third episode of the show’s season.
The show has referenced the Manhunter character before, at least in that they had a Kate Spencer who died in the season 2 finale. She is one of the other people in the comics to don this famous name.
While we are very excited to see this character on board the series now, we still are awaiting news regarding one of the biggest castings of all: Ra’s al Ghul. He is slated to be the Big Bad for the third season, but the show has been very careful when it comes to revealing details about their version … other than of course saying that they have plans to make him distinctive from the one played by Liam Neeson in “Batman Begins.”
The new season of “Arrow” is going to premiere on The CW starting on Wednesday, October 8, and we are of course going to have more news before that time. For now, just share what you think of this casting below, and head over here for more targeted coverage via our newsletter.
