‘Game of Thrones’ season 5 spoilers: Are Kit Harrington, cast filming?

Even though you may not be seeing more “Game of Thrones” on TV for over eight months now, we still come today bearing some pretty good news about what could lie ahead for the show: Filming is underway!

You probably assumed this based on the way that some cast members were talking about things at San Diego Comic-Con, especially since Kit Harrington made it clear that he was coming back in order to film a scene in Belfast. We also know for sure now that Carice van Houten (Melisandre) is also in the area, which makes sense given where the story left off in season 4. Seeing Melisandre and Jon Snow spend time together is something that we are very much looking forward to, given their respective walks of life and the Red Woman’s ability to be able to really read into the futures of certain characters.

Filming is going to be continuing for a rather long time, so there is no reason to start rocking back and forth with anticipation just yet. The show has multiple countries to visit, and even after filming is over, this show in particular has a rigorous post-production process that includes adding dragons, other CG elements, and also making sure that the settings all truly look like Westeros and not just familiar locations for the locals.

Given that Jon Snow has been a critical part of this show since the beginning, we still believe that there is plenty more of hims till to come on this series. Stay tuned…
