‘Supernatural’ season 10 spoilers: More on the Men of Letters … eventually

What's coming up? -Do you enjoy the Men of Letters on “Supernatural“? Personally, we like them in the sense that they give us some connection to the show’s mythology, and the history of the Winchester brothers. At the same time, we also feel somewhat like they are better in doses than something that we see every week. We never want to see the show move too far away from what is its foundation, and that is Sam and Dean hunting monsters. They are already doing that enough right now with Demon Dean and the craziness that comes with that.

So what we know for right now about season 10 is that we won’t be seeing a ton of the Men of Letters … at least in the early going. Just take a look at what showrunner Jeremy Carver had to say about it to TVLine:

“One of the reasons for [the Men of Letters being absent] is that the boys are on the road actually for a good portion of the first run of episodes. It takes them a while to get back to the Men of Letters.”

You can’t really be too surprised by this, given that Dean is not even in a position right now to do the typical “Supernatural” mission. Eventually, we do feel like he will be rid of this demon persona, but these sort of things take time. It’s similar in a way to Sam with Gadreel last season, or the purgatory bit with Benny that happened in the past.
