‘Girl Meets World’ episode 5 preview: Farkle’s acting and ‘Girl Meets the Truth’

To accompany every new episode of the Disney Channel’s “Girl Meets World,” we like to attach what is at least a quick look at something else that could be coming along with it. In this case, we’re talking about an episode that has to be titled “Girl Meets the Truth” for a very simple reason: That is going to be what sets some of the characters free in this particular hour.

Before we do anything else, let’s go ahead and start off the discussion with a look at the official synopsis that was released courtesy of the Disney Channel:

“After Cory teaches a lesson on truth, Riley and Maya struggle with whether or not it was right to lie to Farkle and tell him he’s a good actor and if Maya should keep the locket she found, even though it doesn’t belong to her.”

We realize that there is a certain amount of this synopsis that is pretty easy to read. Of course, there will be some lessons in here about different sorts of truth. For example, why tell Farkle he is terrible? There is a way that you can be reasonably honest with him without hurting his feelings, and that’s what Riley and Maya will have to learn. Meanwhile, Maya will just have to learn about truth outright when it comes to figuring out the right thing to do with this locket. It’s something we’ve seen on many other shows: At least make an effort to find out who owns it.
