‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 5, episode 8 preview: Ashley Benson, Lucy Hale’s ‘Scream for Me’ trouble
“Pretty Little Liars” is about to be at a fever pitch this summer, and next week’s episode “Scream for Me” is when some of the you-know-what will really hit the fan. Hanna is about to go down a very dark road, and she is not the only one who is about to witness the surprising struggles. The only difference is that Aria’s are going to be of a very different variety.
Based on the official synopsis for this episode next week, Ashley Benson, Lucy Hale, and the rest of the cast are going to get some pretty substantial material. Also, Aria’s mother is finally going to be back in town:
“Hanna’s insecurities and current situation continue to plague her when Alison moves into the Marin house while her Dad is out of town. Now forced to live with the one person she is trying to avoid, Hanna retreats further into abusing alcohol and ends up in a sticky situation.
“Meanwhile, Aria drops the ball on her maid of honor duties when Ella returns to town to plan her wedding and Spencer and Emily pursue a dangerous lead, trying to solve the mystery of the dead girl in Alison’s grave.”
The title alone brings us back to some sort of torture, and that does not fully line up with anything in the synopsis … unless of course something happens to Spencer and Emily. We’ll never believe that these two are in real danger, mostly because this show without the four ladies would be next to nothing. We just hope that Hanna’s meltdown in particular is different than the other ones we’ve seen on the show before, mostly because we’ve all been down this road many times before.

The show doesn’t seem to be going anywhere. It will seem to get interesting but nothing is ever revealed that changes anything. Fitz is a stalker creep. Few episodes later Aria is back with him. Mrs. Dilaurentis is murdered. Ali doesn’t have much reaction. No one does.
Events are tossed onto the table and no one reacts. No one is changed. Spencer takes speed. Now she doesn’t. Hanna starts drinking. Who cares? In a few eps that will be over and it means nothing. Plotlines in this show are like cheap outfits they put on and then toss back into the closet. Nothing matters. Aria’s parents are chronically gone – no moral judgments? Ella has no responsibility to raise a couple of teens, one of whom sleeps with her creepy stalker teacher?
How is it that there are at least six lesbians in the girls’ small social circle? In a small town.
Nothing about the show stands out. It’s a soap opera and a poorly written one. It’s eye candy. Nothing more. I’m no longer interested in the “plot”. There is none. I watch to remember that being young was more fun than I thought at the time, mainly because everything hurts now that I’m old.

Oh and that’s why it’s for people 14 and up so that they won’t make those life choices
