Dismissed ‘Saturday Night Live’ cast member John Milhiser gets send-off from Jon Cryer

SNL -It’s not all bad for John Milhiser today. Even though he was officially let go from “Saturday Night Live” this week after only a season on the show, he did at least get the respect of the guy he impersonated back during that hilarious “Celebrity Family Feud” video earlier this year.

In a post on Twitter not too long after the news first came out, “Two and a Half Men” star Jon Cryer posted what we feel to be a pretty classy message to the guy wishing him the best:

I can’t be the only one who is going to miss @JohnMilhiser on #SNL Godspeed dude!”

We do feel bad for Milhiser, given that we never really saw enough of his on the show consistently to really have enough of an opinion of him one way or another. He, like Brooks Wheelan, was probably a casualty for the most part of being added to the show the same time as a lot of other similar guys in Mike O’Brien, Kyle Mooney, and Beck Bennett. We never assumed going into it that all five of them would find a way to stick around for the next season. We also feel like “SNL” probably hired too many people overall last year for what was a 90-minute show.

Given that you also have no Nasim Pedrad and that Noel Wells is also leaving the show, we only expect around 2-3 new hires for the 4 people who are officially gone. The show needs to slim down a little bit, and actually give future newcomers a better chance to succeed.

Just in case you haven’t seen the “Celebrity Family Feud” sketch before, you can check it out in the video below. Also, sign up today to get some other news worth watching and laughing about via our newsletter.
