‘Elementary’ season 3 spoilers: Meet Kitty Winter now!

Elementary -Elementary” fans, there is no more waiting to find out who is going to be the next big guest-star for the show.

Earlier in the week, we told you a little about the role of Kitty Winter, a woman with ties to Sherlock Holmes’ time in England who was almost his version of Joan Watson across the pond. However, for the new season she will be back in his life in some way, and thanks to that present a sort of rivalry with Lucy Liu’s character.

So who is playing this role? According to TVLine, the spot has gone to British actress Ophelia Lovibond, who is known best by Americans audiences for her role in the Encore miniseries “Titanic: Blood and Steel.” Even though we know the character’s name and the ties to the Sherlock story, many of the finer details about her character are still reasonably unclear. For example, her longevity on the show has not been explicitly laid out just yet, as has her motive for going across the pond and working with Holmes again. Maybe he called her up following his difference-of-opinion (to put it mildly) with Watson, or maybe she had a different reason for coming across and the two happened to cross paths.

Personally, we’d enjoy her sticking around for at least a few weeks, largely because any injection of Sherlock’s past into the show is to us very much a good thing. The last thing we want is that this is just someone who turns up for two weeks, and then leaves so that the series can reset back to normal. That’s a little too convenient.
