‘Elementary’ season 3 spoilers: Meet new character Kitty Winter

The latest -As we get nearer to the start of production, of course many shows are going to start casting some important characters. When it comes to “Elementary,” that means a chance to bring in some more faces that should be familiar with those who know and love the Sherlock Holmes canon.

Last year, the character from the Holmes universe that debuted was Rhys Ifans as Mycroft. This time around, the new character (per TV Guide) is going to be Kitty Winter. She is a familiar face and protegee from Sherlock’s past back in London; in many ways, she was like his Watson across the pond, and could that be once again here. Given that Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu’s characters are not on the best of terms right now already after the season finale, this cannot be good news for their relationship moving forward.

With all of this being said, we still have plenty of hopes for Sherlock and Watson moving forward. These two are a staple of the series, and do you really think that they are going to leave Sherlock and Watson at odds forever? That just doesn’t make any sense for the showrunners to do. We can’t imagine this feud lasting longer than just a handful of episodes, and if it does for some reason, we have to hope that it is using one of the coolest and most creative twists ever.

If there is something good to report right now when it comes to Liu, it is that she is set to direct an upcoming season 3 episode. This marks her second trip behind the camera. We’ll have even more scoop from the show soon.
