‘Teen Wolf’ season 4, episode 3 preview: Tyler Posey and more trouble in ‘Muted’

What's next? -Teen Wolf” so far has been somewhat of a trip. We’ve seen Derek both in child and yellow-eye form, and we’ve also seen the origins of the Benefactor along with Kate Argent continuing to try and scheme her way to the top … whatever the top may be right now, anyway.

The one thing that we did enjoy about this week’s “117” is that it further established the life for the characters back at high school in a way that wasn’t cheesy, and reminded us that there is a capacity for humor still with this show. Sometimes it has a tendency to get a little too serious for its own good, and we really do not need to see that happen.

Next week’s episode is entitled “Muted,” but we are going to take a swing here and guess that the creature without a mouth is not the only reason why. Unfortunately, you’re not going to get too many answers here one way or another via either the promo below or the official synopsis from MTV:

A new Freshman player jeopardizes Scott’s position on the Lacrosse team; Stilinksi investigates a savage murder.”

The only thing that we can really say for certain right now is that it looks like the show will be somewhat similar to season 3A from an action point of view; while we have gotten into the head of Derek so far, we would not say that we are anywhere near the psychological level that we saw for the series back during the second part of last season. At the moment, we are appreciating the change even if we enjoyed most of the story earlier this year.
