‘Big Brother 16’ spoilers: Is Caleb Reynolds our first offensive houseguest?
We really wanted to have high hopes for Caleb Reynolds in “Big Brother 16” that he could be the U.S. show’s version of Emmett from “Big Brother Canada.” Now, he’s looking a little bit more like this season’s version of Aaryn or Spencer.
There are a pair of new indictments against Caleb already on the internet, though both of them were taken down as soon as someone on his end started to realize that they were spreading online like wildfire and stirring up all sorts of vitriol.
- There was a video out there featuring him killing a pig with a stick. There’s hunting, and then there is killing while the animal suffers. Even as someone who enjoys bacon and realizes that hunting happens all the time, it’s pretty inhumane.
- Also, a screengrab on Instragram (you can see it at Hamsterwatch’s Twitter) shows Caleb in a dispute with a commenter use both a homophobic term and also refers to President Obama using a racist term.
Caleb is obviously to blame for the things that he did and said, but in the end here the blame has to fall on “Big Brother” casting, who knew that most Americans hated the cast from last season because of the racism and offensive comments. We understand in some contexts that i was impossible to know that some of them had the capacity to be terrible if there was no evidence of it beforehand. Aaryn apparently came off like a girl next door in the interviews.
But, if there is a clear paper trail, what are you doing? Social media would be the first place we would check for this sort of stuff if we were casting, whether it be Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, or something else. You have to know that “Big Brother” fans will scour the internet looking for this stuff, especially now. We are in the age where there is no tolerance anymore for offensive language, and some will take it upon themselves to go through a person’s entire history to find it.
The only thing we can hope for is that Caleb was coached heavily on what not to say and do in the house if he is going to be in there, since this is not something that we’d want to put up with on the live feeds. This all does certainly change our perspective of him that we wrote in our houseguest spotlight.

“yeah for Obama he gets to shred this country apart another four years only God can save us now” – Caleb(?)
The quote above is (allegedly) what Caleb wrote.
It is not a racist statement.
In this country we are allowed to criticize our president for any reason, at any time. Many countries do not have this basic right. It is a luxury we should celebrate, not condemn.
Shame on the author for using Caleb’s (perfectly normal) alleged Obama comment to attempt to create a divisive racial controversy before this television program even airs.

RME. So focus on that and ignore what we learned about his torturing and animal on top of it all. He can say whatever he damn well chooses to about anyone, but you using THAT as the basis of your ‘argument’ when the author also stated something else regarding this person proves your ‘argument’ weak as hell. Either state both claims made against this man or none at all.

Exactly. Ignoring this non-racist comment and focusing on the other stuff is a more honest angle.

Clever of you to ignore the fact that caleb, in the same exchange (one comment later) called Obama a “Muslim monkey” and referred to gay people as “f*gs”

This article, and the link to the twitter page showing the comment which the author calls “racist” does not show any of the incredibly offensive comments you list above. If Mr. Caleb said those offensive things, then the author should put them in the article itself with a link to them, instead of labeling a non offensive critique of the president as “racist”.
