‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 7 notes: Charlie Hunnam and production chatter

It has been a while since we reported on anything related to “Sons of Anarchy’s” upcoming season, and there is a pretty good reason for that: Filming has already begun in California, and this is when information starts to get on lockdown.

Obviously, there are some set photos that you can probably see elsewhere, but we’re not going to share them here as per on policy on such things. The reasons why are pretty simple, starting with it destroying the creative process and it ending with it being a distraction for the crew, it potentially ruins things that should not be ruined, and it takes away the illusion for the viewer. But still, you should know that filming is underway, and it will continue throughout the summer leading up to the show’s premiere in September.

As for some other, more-bizarre news, the internet took this week to repeatedly killing off Charlie Hunnam, despite the fact that he has been seen on set and there is zero evidence that this is true. We suppose that having an internet death hoax is some sort of morbid badge of honor, given that you do not traditionally get such a thing unless you are a big enough deal for someone to care.

Our favorite response to the hoax comes from show creator Kurt Sutter on Twitter, who turned the “headline” (if you can call it that) into a nice callback to the “Sons of Anarchy” story:

“charlie is alive and well. i got wind of the hoax when i saw coates and boone in the costume trailer looking for the president’s patch.”

Charlie’s world has changed somewhat in the past year thanks to those “Fifty Shades of Grey” headlines, which are unfairly going to haunt him because some people know nothing else to talk about.
