‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’ spoilers: Sarah Paulson reveals complicated role

American Horror Story -When Sarah Paulson spoke recently about her role in “American Horror Story: Freak Show,” all she would say is that she asked specifically for something from co-creator Ryan Murphy, and that he was kind enough to oblige her request.

Now, we know specifically just what that request was. In a new post on Twitter, the actress made it clear that she will be playing conjoined twins Bette and Dot on the show this season. A two-headed woman definitely qualifies for a freak show, and we imagine that this is going to be quite a feat for those in the visual effects department to have to pull off.

At first, we wondered whether or not this announcement was a joke or something meant to lead us astray, but Murphy later retweeted the post and gave it that much more credence. This means that one of the likely freak show staples is taken off the board, but we still have plenty of others out there that could be included like the rubber map, the bearded lady, someone with a zillion piercings, or a guy who has underwent a ton of surgeries to look more like a cat. Some of the cast this time around includes Kathy Bates, Michael Chiklis, Evan Peters, Emma Roberts, Angela Bassett, and many more. The show should premiere on FX this October, with Jessica Lange playing the part of a German expatriate who runs one of the last remaining shows of this kind in Jupiter, Florida during the 1950s. We are more excited about this idea than almost any other that the show has come up with, so the test now will be seeing if it sticks.
