Jimmy Kimmel beats DeMarcus Cousins one-on-one … with bass drum included

Jimmy Kimmel -Few other talk show hosts get the opportunities that Jimmy Kimmel does week in and week out to be both spontaneous and silly, and in a variety of different venues. Not only does he air some pretty ridiculous “Scandal” editions of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and his annual Oscar show, but he also precedes many editions of the NBA Finals with a special broadcast that includes interviews with many athletes.

So on Sunday night’s edition prior to game 2 between the San Antionio Spurs and the Miami Heat, Jimmy got a chance to do something very silly with Sacramento Kings star DeMarcus Cousins. The idea here was pretty simple enough in that the two were going to go at each other in a game of one-on-one … with a twist. DeMarcus was forced to play a bass drum while competing, which makes it a little hard to move, or score points. Cousins probably never had the marching band experience, but those things are pretty heavy and can be tough to lug around for a long period of time.

So don’t be that surprised that Jimmy actually did very well, but it really doesn’t matter too much one way or the other who won this. It was more about the comedy of it all, and there were a few genuine roll-on-the-floor moments. The biggest surprise to us in here was probably just that Cousins, one of the more volatile players in the league most of the time, was actually convinced to take part in something like this.

As soon as there is a video released of this random round of Kimmel shenanigans, we’ll of course have it for you below.
