‘Game of Thrones’ season 4, episode 9: Iain Glen on Emilia Clarke’s Dany, next move

Game of Thrones -This past episode of “Game of Thrones” was one of the most significant ones out there when it comes to the Danaerys character, at least in that she has now sent away one of her most significant supporters.

Recently, Emilia Clarke claimed that Dany letting Jorah go over some treacherous moves in his past was one of the first moments where she completely disagreed with her character, and for both her and Iain Glen, this moment was extremely hard for them to play. These two obviously had a bond that stemmed from working so much over the years; so much of the rest of the cast is separate from them, and they were the only two links for each other that had been there since the beginning.

So where does Jorah go from here? That is a very good question, and one that Glen attempted to answer in speaking to the official Making of Game of Thrones blog:

I think he’s bereft. That’s his mood, riding off alone on his horse. But Ser Jorah’s a survivor. He’s lived away from home for many, many years. He’s very good at adapting — he adapted well to the Dothraki, and adopted the way they live and even an element of their dress. He knows how to incorporate himself into different worlds, which is part of the reason why he was so helpful to Dany.”

Certainly, we have to think that the story for Jorah is not entirely over just yet, even if we have a hard time thinking that he is going to surface on the show again this season. He will certainly not be present Sunday night, since almost every indication we have is that 4×09 is going to be entirely based around The Battle at the Wall, one of the most significant moments from the George R.R. Martin books.

We’ll have some more news in the morning regarding the upcoming “Game of Thrones” finale, so stay tuned for that. Also, sign up now to grab some more extensive TV updates via our CarterMatt Newsletter.
