‘The Good Wife’ season 6 spoilers: what we know now (and what we’d like to see)
Tonight on CBS, “The Good Wife” will officially close the door on what was a pretty intense (but also entertaining) fifth season, which included everything from great guest stars to the Will Gardner shocker talked about around the world.
When you look back at that, it’s only inevitable that you are going to spend a minute or two thinking about whether or not the show is going to be able to match that level of insanity for season 6. You have at least 22 episodes coming up, and while there is not much in the way of concrete facts out there, we can at least tell you some of what we know pertaining to the structure of the show.
1. Is it the final season? – CBS has made a habit of announcing these sort of things in advance, and they did not do that with this show. Therefore, we like to imagine that there may be potentially something more in the tank depending on the ratings, and whether or not everyone is contracted until season 7.
2. Timeslot notes – While “The Good Wife” is still at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time, it will be after a new drama in “Madame Secretary” that may or may not help as a lead-in. It’s certainly a show with a more similar demographic than “The Amazing Race.”
3. What we’d like to see – Let us begin with a larger arc for Michael J. Fox, and from there say more story when it comes to Peter and election, and finally some moment that brings Alicia and Kalinda together as friends. We understand the need to have their relationship be a journey with peaks and valleys, but it feels like time to move forward.
