ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 6, episode 23 (finale) spoilers: See Stana Katic’s Beckett, Eddie McClintock

On Monday night’s “Castle” finale, Beckett is going to find herself in quite a tricky dilemma: Finding a way to ensure that she can marry Rick while she is actually married to someone else. It’s the stuff straight out of sitcoms!

While this story is hardly something revolutionary, we’re actually pleased that the show is doing something a little different than the standard wedding episode where there are crazy life-and-death circumstances surrounding the big day. In theory, things at least appear to be a little more lighthearted here, as you have Beckett hunting down a guy from her past (played by Eddie McClintock of “Warehouse 13”) to tell him that he is technically her husband following some drunken escapade years ago.

From the first moment we meet him, it’s clear that this guy is a massive toolbox, and he makes it a little more clear when Stana Katic’s character actually tells him what she needs: He wants to from there find a way to ensure that he gets something out of signing his name on the dotted line. This means that wild goose chase is in the works for this episode, and by the time that we reach the end of it, hopefully we’ll see Castle and Beckett going down the aisle.

What we mostly like about this scene is that it focuses on Beckett in a very different sort of context than a cop. She cannot intimidate her husband into confessing anything, and he’s not really breaking any laws by not wanting to split up from her. She’s instead got to find a way to appeal to his conscience and make him want to not take advantage of her. This should be entertaining.
