‘NCIS’ season 11 spoilers: Additional details on ’emotional’ finale
The “NCIS” season 11 finale is going to be coming up in just over a week, and there is one thing for sure that you can expect to see from it: Emotion, and plenty of it. This is the tribute episode for Ralph Waite, and a farewell to the Jackson Gibbs character after a variety of appearances on the show.
With all this being said, this is not necessarily going to be an episode designed to make you feel sad or depressed at the end of it. Rather, this is meant more to be a tale about reality, and how you move on from sad times. In the new issue of TV Guide, showrunner Gary Glasberg explains that he doesn’t see the story “as a downer,” meant to make you feel really bad after you watch it.
It has been reported already that Jackson’s funeral will take place during the episode, and Billy Dee Williams will be one of the guests who returns for the event. As for a cliffhanger, the only thing that we can say is that there will not be one. The show has utilized these many times in the past, but it would take away from what the point of this episode is: Honoring a character. Plus, there has really been enough insanity that has taken place this season already.
Even though you may not be meant to be depressed after watching this episode, we’re still recommending heavily that you find a way to have a box of tissues nearby. We have a feeling that you will need them.

Not everything is about Cote! Honestly, you people are as bad as those that wanted her gone, like a broken record. She’s gone. This is disrespectful to the character Jackson and especially to the actor Ralph Waite. Grow up. You embarrass the rest of us.

I’m very happy to hear that they are honoring a character, especially because the actor who played him passed away. And he meant a lot to me and the story of Gibbs. Unfortunately it’s not something I can fully appreciate, because there was no honoring of the significant character of Ziva David, one that was a key support beam in the structure of the story telling on NCIS for 8 years. No matter what happened in the real world, this character should have been honored properly & congruent with the story they wove about her. Just like Jackson Gibbs, whose actor who played him left in an entirely different fashion. And because TPTB let real life events obliterate the character of Ziva, that is exactly what will bring them down.
Bring back Cote!

I tottaly agree. They never bring ziva up anymore. I am glad they are going to honar Ralph Waite, but ziva was in it for eight years. NCIS is going down hill. And fast

Yeah, being the #1 scripted show on tv STILL is showing how they’re going down fast. Uh huh.

You’re lost. Ralph Waite actually died. Cote de Pablo left, told her boss weeks before filming started again that she wasn’t coming back. How were they supposed to come up with a better ending for her. Very open ended. They’ve brought Ziva up during the season plenty. They have a new character to write for, since Ziva left and isn’t coming back any time soon.
