‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 5, episode 19 preview: A threat in this Ian Somerhalder video

Who knew that keys were so dangerous? In the sneak peek video below from Thursday night’s new “Vampire Diaries” episode “Gone Girl,” Ian Somerhalder has a moment that may for a minute make you think that he is having a moment akin to Vin Diesel wanting to kill someone with a teacup in “The Chronicles of Riddick.”

Ian’s character of Damon Salvatore makes his threat in the sneak peek video below, as he learns that the one thing that he needs for his quest to take down the Travelers has gone missing. Not only that, but neither Matt nor Jeremy seem to be particularly upset about it. We are happy to see the two guys be a part of the story again, just as we’re also happy that they didn’t invite Damon in. We know the guy has a temper, after all, and the last thing that we want to do is lose some more characters we really like. Plus, Jeremy’s already died once, and given the talk about Matt getting a new love interest possibly next season, he’s probably not going anywhere, either.

For Damon, the rest of the season 5 will see him torn between trying to keep his feelings for Elena in control, and also continue to handle what needs to be done now that Markos is on the scene. You can get a sense of some of what else is coming up in the official promo for the episode, but we have to say that it is not necessarily substantial. There are only a few episodes left for this season, though, so whatever does happen will do so quickly.
