‘NCIS’ season 11 spoilers: Michael Weatherly’s Tony and a major mission to Paris
In some various scoop articles a little earlier in the year, you may have heard the news already that Agent DiNozzo is going to get a special mission to Paris on an upcoming “NCIS” season 11 episode. Now, we’re back with a little bit more as to what that could contain, and a welcome sign that Vance is going to have some sort of a role again!
The penultimate episode of season 11 airing on Tuesday, May 6 is entitled “The Admiral’s Daughter,” and if you look below at the official synopsis, you can get a little bit of a better idea as to what you can expect:
“Director Vance gives DiNozzo a special assignment to bring home an Admiral’s daughter from Paris, but he must turn to his NCIS team for help after he enters a controversial crime scene.”
There is not a whole lot here to go on, but this is a nice reminder that Michael Weatherly will get to do some fun stuff at the end of the season, and that the show is willing to put some more of its characters outside of their normal settings. Is it possible that this episode continues its story into the finale? We’re not going to rule it out, but at the same time remember that the final episode is going to be in part a tribute to Ralph Waite and his character of Jackson Gibbs. Unless there are two stories crammed in here, it could be difficult to pack all of this in.
Before this episode airs, “NCIS” has both a hiatus and an upcoming episode in “Shooter” airing the week prior. You can find out more details at the link here, and if you want some more great scoop sent to you via email, our official newsletter is where to go.

I’m cautiously optimistic about Tony in Paris. I’m sure we’ll get the return of the competent agent when he has to deal with things on the ground by himself. Doesn’t Michael Weatherly speak French? I really hope they give him a few lines to say, that’ll be fun.

It seems to be a cliffhanger before a final…Tony will meet Ziva in Paris and…yes he´ll bring her home ( for the J. Gibbs funeral ). Easy LOL! Could GG take a notice please ;-)

If only . . .
I’d even return to NCIS to see that. Too bad they dropped the previously discussed Tony ( a character of 12 seasons and about 20 some episodes each of those seasons) centric two part finale to devote the entire last episode of the season to a character only seen a few times and who lived an independent life to a ripe old age. Sorry, another Gibbs finale sounds like a bid snooze.

Bit heartless aren’t we? Jackson is the last member of Gibbs’ family, it’s only fitting that his passing should be recognized as well as being a fitting tribute to the lovely and compassionate soul that was/is Ralph Waite.

Not heartless. I have lost both of my parents, way, way younger than Jackson, and with far longer and uglier ends. Getting to live to 85, while mostly healthy and independent is a blessing, not a tragedy.
A tribute is fine, it just should not have been the episode that usurped Tony’s finale. They did not do much of anything when Ducky’s mom, HIS last relative died.
And not wishing to see yet another Gibbs centric finale is not heartless, Jackson could be honored in any other episode. TV time is fluid. It did not have to be THAT episode. They could have had his death occur in Season 12.

I agree with you Ninjish One. I’m still hoping that Tony will still be the focus of the finale and the Jackson Gibbs tribute is somehow connected.

I agree with you too Ninjish One. CdP leaving was the perfect opportunity to make Tony a character that mattered again, and not just one who exists for comic relief and to prop up Gibbs or Ziva. Instead, he was relegated to first support the story of Ziva leaving, and then the rest of the season to support McGee’s story. So he pretty much supported a supporting character for most of the season (nothing against McGee). If anything, his place has been demoted even further than when he used to actually have scenes with Gibbs once in a while. This episode, while nice, sounds like a weak attempt to throw Tony fans a bone since the season finale was taken away and handed over to Gibbs yet again. Unfortunately, it sounds like pretty much a case-driven episode, really not about Tony at all, being done to fulfill some kind of quota. I thought highly of Ralph Waite, but since they obviously had to redo both the last two episodes, they could have given him the penultimate episode, done it next season, or found a way to make it a two-parter and incorporate both.
