‘Two and a Half Men’ season 11, episode 19 review: Is Alan’s secret out?

Mila -Two and a Half Men” hyped up this entire episode with the arrival of Mila Kunis as Vivian, but what actually ended up being the more important story of the episode was seeing that Alan’s alter ego Jeff Strongman is starting to completely crumble.

For the first time, Alan had to come to terms with the fact to Gretchen that he had lied to her … but after a little bit of physical abuse, he did have an opportunity to surprisingly be with her still. This is a big move forward in his personal life, but let’s face it: He’s still far and away from the perfect candidate. We’d say that this was completely unrealistic for “Two and a Half Men” … but it’s “Two and a Half Men.” Nothing is ever realistic.

The purpose of Kunis’ Vivian actually seemed to be in the end finding another reason to get Brooke D’Orsay off of the show. Walden was ready to marry her before meeting this eccentric traveler, and quickly become obsessed with her. We’re basically of two minds when it comes to this story, as Walden’s sense of romantic idealism is something that we do very much appreciate about the character. However, we don’t know how the show expects us to like him when he keeps hurting people time and time again.

So Walden’s a d-bag, and now completely single again. The show keeps on spinning its wheels. We’ll not going to act all holier-than-thou and say that we never laughed during this episode … mostly because we did. It was funny! It was also ridiculous, and once again ruined the idea that most of these people are making that much progress … except for (maybe) Alan. We have a hard time believing in him. Grade: C.
