‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 10 spoilers: More on Caterina Scorsone’s appearance

The future -As someone who loved the final season of “Private Practice” and thought it may be the best season of anything Shonda Rhimes has done to date, we’ll celebrate anytime that someone from that show gets to head up to Seattle for “Grey’s Anatomy.” For the upcoming April 24 episode “Change of Heart,” this means getting an opportunity to see more of Caterine Scorsone as the Amelia character. Given her ties to Derek and by proxy Meredith, she always has a place in the show. It’s just all about how much the character should be utilized.

We’re not going to sit here and say that the official synopsis for this episode just released by ABC really gives away that much in regards to this story. However, it does at least allow you to know whether or not Amelia’s arrival is planned:

“Jackson is given the daunting task of delivering disappointing news to the doctors. Meanwhile, Derek’s sister Amelia drops by for a surprise visit, Richard surprises Catherine in Boston and when Bailey gets frustrated by the slow pace of her research, she makes a risky decision”

We know that there are some out there who’ve been hoping for Scorsone to become a regular on “Grey’s Anatomy,” and given that Sandra Oh, Gaius Charles, and Tessa Ferrer are all leaving after this season, they may have room for another actor. Personally, though, we’d prefer that she stay in California with the life she’s created there. We really enjoyed the end of her story there, and we don’t want to imagine anything happening that changes the canon for how we imagined her story ending. Yes, we realize that things are fluid between these two shows … but for those who watched “Private Practice” only, seeing a twist on the character’s end on another show could be a bit awkward.

The reason we’re not touching much on anyone else’s story right now is basically because there’s not that much right now to go on. How can you discuss something without a whole lot of insight into it?
