‘NCIS’ season 11, episode 19 review: Do you want to stay in ‘New Orleans’ a while?

NCIS -The “NCIS: New Orleans” backdoor pilot is now officially over, and while we still have some concerns as to whether or not there is a need for a third show in the franchise, we actually feel like we want it now. This series has a great lead in Scott Bakula, a solid cast to follow it up, and plenty of little morsels thanks to the setting to look forward to. Let’s just hope that it can stand on its own if the show moves forward.

Gibbs and Bishop were the two team members who spent most of their time in the Big Easy this week with Bakula’s Pride and the rest of the gang, but they found a way to include the rest of the team. The Tony voodoo doll? Pretty darn funny.

We are moving forward now, and by that, we actually mean that we are moving back in the direction of normal “NCIS” stories with the typical band of characters. We are glad for that, but also glad to learn a little bit more about the man Agent Gibbs was in the past to go along with it. Mike Franks gets more references to any no-longer-with-us character out there, doesn’t he? We consider these two episodes to be a nice slice of entertainment, but we’re ready now to get back to the real show. Grade: B+.

As for when we’ll find out the truth about the future of “NCIS: New Orleans,” all will be revealed in May at the CBS upfronts.
