‘Hawaii Five-0’ season 4 spoilers: Who is leaving the show?

With all of the recent promotions of Chi McBride and Jorge Garcia on “Hawaii Five-0,” we cannot really sit here and say that we are particularly shocked to learn that the show is cutting someone from their cast before season 5. Also, we cannot really say that we are particularly shocked with who that person is, given how much they have had to do as of late.

In news first reported by TVLine, it has been revealed that actress Michelle Borth, who plays the role of Catherine “Cat” Rollins on the show and has recurred since season 1 (she received her regular status back during season 3), is not going to return for the fifth season. That is big news that will likely mean hard times are ahead for McGarrett, but it does also free the show up to tell more stories and mix things up in a way that they have not been able to do.

Despite this bit of sad news, we feel like “Hawaii Five-0” still has quite a bit to celebrate. The show remains a nice breath of fresh air for CBS on Friday nights, where it has found an audience and a place that is not that far down from where it was on Mondays the last time that we saw it there. We also see it trying harder to shake things up and get the fans involved than the standard police procedural, and we feel like that is going to become more and more valuable as time passes and CBS realized that this is the right way to go about doing things.

For now, though, let us just pose the following question: What is your reaction to Borth’s exit? Are you going to miss the Cat character? Share below.
