‘Downton Abbey’ season 4, episode 7 preview (PBS): Joanne Froggatt, Brendan Coyle, and big moves
When next week’s “Downton Abbey” episode first aired in the UK, it was actually at the time considered to be the season finale. There was an episode that aired after it that was considered the Christmas Special, but you had to wait more than a month to see it.
This episode coming up is one that, regardless of how it is presented to American audiences, is going to be enormous. It will tie up a number of loose ends, complete some stories, and set the stage for some other events to come in for the big send-off (which pretty much functions as a movie) to the season.
So the primary highlight of this episode, for many, is going to be the next big move when it comes to Anna and Bates. Is everything going to be resolved over the course of this hour? Both yes and no. What we will tell you is that Bates will make some sort of move to protect his wife, but there will be questions that remain as to whether or not he really did what some others suspect. This will all come back down to trust, morality, and a number of other interesting questions. You’re going to have a hard time guessing just what exactly what happens, so if we were you, we wouldn’t even bother to try.
We’re going to save most of the other teasers for a little while longer, but we will say this when it comes to Mary: More is on the way in her bizarre new love triangle with Gillingham and also Charles Blake.
