‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’: Phaedra Parks’ husband Apollo Nida charged in elaborate scheme
What is it with stars of “The Real Housewives” franchise being in legal trouble? You have already heard extensively about Joe Giudice, husband of Teresa Giudice of the New Jersey series, and all of his legal trouble; now, Phaedra Parks of the Atlanta version of the show is having to witness her husband Apollo Nida turning himself in to authorities in what is a pretty extensive scheme that allegedly involves everything from bank fraud to identity theft.
According to “Access Atlanta,” Nida turned himself in to face charges that stem from a series of elaborate plots involving creating supposed fake accounts and companies, and then funneling money in through them. This all stems from the arrest last year of Gayla St. Julien, an alleged associate of Nida who referred to herself as his “right hand b***h” in ensuring the alleged information tied to the various accounts had been created.
Given that this entire case is still in the early stages, it is best at the moment to just allow the legal process to play out before really passing judgment on anything at all. Nida does have a criminal history, having already been to prison for racketeering.
The only real backlash that may hit these two right away is strictly from an image perspective. Parks is famous on the show for being an attorney (as well as a funeral director), and we cannot imagine this being the sort of publicity that she would really like to receive since both professionals hold a high standard for proper legal practices. She has yet to comment publicly on the charges placed against her husband.
Away from all of the obvious controversy here, there is a new episode of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” airing on Bravo Sunday night. You can read all about it courtesy of our preview article here, and we will have some more news as it becomes available.
