‘@Midnight’ returns to Comedy Central Monday; check out the upcoming lineup!

We’ve made no secret of our love of “@Midnight,” though it was only with us for a short period of time this past fall. It was zany, it was random, and it made fun of the internet in the way that so many of us want to make fun of the internet but don’t always have the guts to do: Playfully mocking it, while at the same time hoping that it likes us and wants to be friends.

The lineup for the first week back starting on Monday looks to be a good one, especially if you loved what you saw the first time around. Monday’s show will feature the “reigning champion” Paul Scheer on it, as he was the person who won the game (i.e. he made us laugh the hardest) during the first-season finale. Meanwhile, it will also feature the show’s first-ever winner in Kumail Nanjiani, who we were starting to think was never going to appear again so that he keep his record at a perfect 1-0. (The third guest for Monday’s show is not listed online.)

As for the rest of the week, the lineup includes some people who are practically “@Midnight” staples at this point in Doug Benson (who has never won despite multiple appearances) and Tom Lennon (who has never won despite being the executive producer), along with some familiar faces to the show such as Kristen Schaal and Kurt Braunohler.

Given everything that has transpired on the internet since “@Midnight” last went on the air, the easy conclusion to draw right now is that they are going to have quite a bit to discuss, and we’ll have quite a bit to laugh about every step of the way.

Also, Monday marks the return of the rest of the Comedy Central late-night lineup, which includes “The Daily Show” as well as “The Colbert Report.”
