‘Sherlock’ season 3, episode 2 spoilers: More details about Watson’s wedding day

Sherlock season 3After spending two years waiting for the latest 90 minutes of “Sherlock” to come on TV, there is a certain amount of irony in the fact that there is only a wait of three short days in between the first episode of season 3 and the second. Blame the New Year’s Day start for that.

But given how amazing the first episode of the season was, we cannot imagine that you are going to have any problem at all with “The Sign of Three” coming on the air Sunday at 8:30 p.m. local time. You likely know already that much of the episode is themed around Watson’s wedding to Mary based on some of the promotional material that is out there, but there are many mysteries that still remain. Of course, there are spoilers ahead for those who have not seen episode 1 yet.

For example, just how much of a time jump is there from one episode to the next? Well, according to a new report from Digital Spy, six months will have passed between the end of “The Empty Hearse” and the start of this one, and we will find out much of what has happened in that time in an elaborate series of flashbacks that take place during Sherlock’s speech as the best man. There is a lovely little frame that much of the story will be contained in, but given that all of this takes us back to Benedict Cumberbatch and his magic cheekbones, we really do not mind.

Also, you’re going to see some of John’s stag night during the episode! With that, the less that we say about it, the more than you are probably going to enjoy it. (Let’s just say that it is one of those sequences that you are sure to get a laugh or two over.)
