‘American Idol’ notes: See Adam Lambert’s New Year’s Eve cover (video)

Are you ready to ring in 2014 with some Adam Lambert? If you love the singer / former “American Idol” rocker and “Glee” featured player, you’re going to appreciate the video below fresh from his performance last night at WinStar Casino in Oklahoma.

The performance that we are talking about this time is a bluesy take on “Red House,” the Jimi Hendrix classic that has been covered many times over by artists over the years. Adam told the crowd that they threw this performance together at the last minute, and if that is the truth, we are already very curious to know as to what it would have sounded like if they had been given a little bit of time in which to prepare.

Adam has been on a performance spree over the course of the holidays, which is a time when concert-going is fairly popular thanks to people having a little bit of free time in their schedules. This also ensured that Adam wrapped up 2013 by keeping himself busy, which he was for most of the year in between performing, traveling, working on “Glee,” and so much more. There are more episodes for him early next year, but this was always meant to be a somewhat-limited role in order for him to get back to doing some of what he does best: Rocking out in the studio and delivering some more tracks for an upcoming album. He recently parted ways with RCA, largely so that he could continue making some of the music that he was interested in. His last disc in “Trespassing” scored a #1 debut on the Billboard 200.
