‘Teen Mom 2’ season 5 trailer: Jenelle Evans, Leah Messer, and tons of drama
In watching the latest trailer MTV has released for “Teen Mom 2,” it doesn’t take very long at all to figure out just what is the common thread running through the entire video: Drama, and lots of it. There is screaming, crying, cursing, and some more sad moments that remind us that at this point, we don’t really get what the appeal of the show is anymore.
For example, there is one little word in the title that doesn’t even make sense anymore: These women aren’t even teens now! They are instead mothers trying to move on with their lives with young children, and it’s pretty clear that many of them are going down different paths. Kailyn Lowry and Leah Messer Calvert, for example, are trying to expand their families, whereas Jenelle Evans is thinking about getting an abortion and is still bouncing in and out of prison. Some are becoming adults, and some are staying firmly in place when it comes to their maturity.
If you aren’t a lover of the “Teen Mom” franchise, then maybe you will just take a little bit of solace in the fact that we are probably getting pretty close to the end of the series. There were rumors at one point that season 5 wasn’t even going to happen, and since that time, “Teen Mom 3” was canceled. This is the only remnant in the once-popular MTV franchise, and save for Jenelle’s recent legal woes, there really has not been that much in the way of headlines around it. MTV as a network is also trying to reinvent itself again after a pretty rough 2013 that featured no new breakout hits, no more “Jersey Shore” and a tragedy in the world of “Buckwild” that led to them canceling what was at one point a promising show.
