‘Homeland’ season 3, episode 11 preview: Has Brody gone rogue … again?
Tonight, “Homeland” season 3 showed us the beginning of Nicholas Brody’s journey to try to “redeem” himself … but is that what he is really interested in? It’s the question at the center of Sunday night’s “Big Man in Tehran,” where he starts to go rogue rather than just following along the orders that are set in front of him. (Did you really think that Brody was going to move forward with the plan?)
The focus of this episode is going to be somewhat of a familiar theme, as the likes of Saul and Senator Lockhart have to ponder a question that has been pondered many times before: Should Brody be killed off? Lockhart is going to be confirmed in a very short amount of time, and if Saul wants to be the one to make that decision before someone else does, he will have to act quickly. Otherwise, he runs the risk of turning over everything to a man who has not exactly shown a penchant for being qualified on the same level.
Take a look at the full synopsis for this episode before you go any further:
“Brody’s loyalty to the mission wavers when he meets a ghost from his past. Meanwhile, Lockhart’s confirmation looms; and Saul stares into the precipice between success and failure.”
If there is one thing that this season of “Homeland” has lacked at times, it is stakes of a considerable variety. Are these enough to take things over the top? Given that you have the fate of an entire country at stake, we would say so. The only problem is that for some reason, we haven’t felt that sense of urgency just yet in the same way that we would really like to.
