NBC’s ‘Grimm’ season 3, episode 6 preview: Possession, and ‘Stories We Tell Our Young’

The latest -While most TV shows on Friday night opted to air repeats or were preempted entirely (it is the biggest shopping day of the year, after all), NBC decided to do something a little bit different with its lineup: It decided to give us all-new episodes! Much of the reason for that was because a show like “Grimm” is only five episodes into its run, and it’s not even like we can say that tonight’s boogeyman-themed hour really did much of anything to push the larger story forward. It just had some more creatures and an unlikely Grimm at the center of the case. (In other words, you’ve mostly seen it before.)

The episode airing next week to us is significantly more interesting, and mostly because you are looking at a story that is bringing quite a bit more to the table. This is an episode all about a child being possessed, which is something that you have in theory seen before in movies and other shows. But, this is a “Grimm” version, meaning that there will be twists. Not only that, but Nick and company may be forced into making a pretty tough decision about whether or not the boy lives or dies.

“Nick and Hank investigate a case that combines religious phenomenon with the Wesen Council; Capt. Renard deals with family issues.”

While we don’t know how it impacts the major story here at all, we have to say that the title in “Stories We Tell Our Young” is pretty fantastic. It really does a good job at playing up that whole bizarre sense of whimsy, and it’s also a little creepy and even goes back to the name “Grimm,” which of course reminds us of the classic fairy tales first and foremost.
