‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 5 spoilers: Nina Dobrev on ‘brutal’ Ian Somerhalder scenes

On last week’s new episode of “The Vampire Diaries,” we had an opportunity to somehow learn some new things about Damon Salvatore, which is mostly surprising because the show has been around for so long now. Augustine and the experiments are going to be interesting in so many ways on the show, especially when it comes to trying to find the contrast between Damon past and present.

So what was it like for one of Ian Somderhalder’s co-stars to be a part of all of these scenes? Let’s just say that it somehow managed to make a woman uneasy who has seen plenty of other grotesque things on the show. Speaking in a new interview with TVLine, here is what Nina Dobrev had to say about shooting these unusual (to say the least) moments:

“It was disgusting. I’m not good at that kind of stuff and I hated watching it. I’ll probably have to close my eyes when I watch it on TV.”

Unfortunately for Nina, she may be closing her eyes quite a bit over the course of the next couple of weeks. “The Vampire Diaries” is going to continue to show off some pretty terrible stuff over the next couple of weeks, whether it be torture to potentially even bringing in a new Big Bad into the fold. Just think about it for a moment: With Silas seemingly out of the picture for the time being, you have to assume that there would be someone new and equally sinister to take his place. Are you excited/ Let’s just say that you probably should be, since there is so much stuff worth looking forward to. You just have to get through the Thanksgiving holiday first (frustrating as that can be at times).
