‘Orphan Black’ season 2 teaser: See Space’s promo, premiere date for Tatiana Maslany’s return
Apparently, the “Doctor Who” 50th Anniversary Special is basically serving now as the launch pad for almost all programming related to the show at this very moment. Earlier today, we saw the first teaser for the Christmas special, and saw a new teaser for “Sherlock” season 3. But in North America, we’ve been treated to something a little different: The first teaser for “Orphan Black” season 2.
This promo comes courtesy of Canadian broadcaster Space, but you can most-likely assume that the plan will be for BBC America to run the show at the same time to avoid one version of the show getting spoiled before the other. The date that we are talking about here is Saturday, April 19. There is going to be a greater challenge for this series than it had last year, mostly because it was graced with having a “Doctor Who” lead-in throughout season 1. Now, it will be required more to stand on its own two feet.
Luckily, what this series has going for it is that it is, quite frankly, one of the best things that has been produced for television in quite a long time. Tatiana Maslany is brilliant beyond words in the show, and it is one of those things that really makes you question as to why in the world she did not receive an Emmy nomination for it. There are going to be more clones than ever before on this new season, which means many more challenges for Maslany to try and play.
The actress herself is coming off of a brief two-episode arc on “Parks and Recreation” as a love interest for Aziz Ansari’s character of Tom, and for the time being the door is open there for her to return for a little more story in the future, depending on when her character returns from Africa.
While there may not be that much out there yet in the way of information on the new “Orphan Black” season, we still believe one thing above all else: This has the potential to be beyond epic and awesome. We can’t wait to see what Maslany and company do next.
