‘Arrow’ season 2, episode 7 preview: Oliver Queen learns about The Count’s possible return

Take a look -

Wednesday night’s “Arrow” season 2 episode is going to be featuring the return of Seth Gabel as The Count, but with that comes a very important question: How in the world has this character been released from prison in the first place?

As it turns out, a lot of it could be tied to the same way in which we saw the Dollmaker find a way to secure his own freedom on the show a little earlier in the season: The quake. The part of this that is somewhat unbelievable is that Oliver and company would not have checked up on all of this back when they dealt with their first instance of a villain breaking out of prison; but, there is no question now that The Count is back, given what has happened to Diggle. He’s suffering from sort of effects brought on by the drug, but he hasn’t willingly taken any of it. This means that not only does The Count probably have that brilliant mind of his back, but he is attacking Oliver right where it hurts.

What will remain the issue here is what happens if Oliver finds him. He wants to be a hero as The Hood these days, but there is one stipulation that comes with that: If you are a hero, you cannot kill anyone. Otherwise, you are pretty much the same as the people you are killing. But when you have an adversary like The Count, you’re dealing with someone who has already managed to escape prison before, and wants to do terrible things to both you and everyone else that you love. Sometimes, there may not be a better way to ensure that everyone surrounding you lives; this is the problem that arises when you try and operate on some sort of code. Even when you are a hero, there are still some lines that you may or may not be willing to cross.

There are some other changes coming up on “Arrow.” Just in case you had not realized it previously, we’re going to be seeing the character now sport a mask! Take a look at the photo here, and be sure to come back later tonight for a look at what is coming next on “Arrow” this season.
