‘The X Factor’ USA results: Was Carlos Guevara, Josh Levi, Khaya Cohen first elimination

The latest -

Thanks in part to that massive judges’ snafu that took place on “The X Factor” USA last week, there was no results show. Instead, what we had here was a situation where the start of tonight’s episode was spent dealing with something that should have been last week’s business.

At the start of the performance show, the act with the lowest number of votes from Thursday’s program (Wednesday was basically useless) was sent home before they even got a chance to sing. Who was it? Going into it, our feeling was that it could have been either Josh Levi or Carlos Guevara from the boys, Khaya Cohen from the girls, or Jeff Gutt or Lillie McCloud from the Overs. (The groups seem to be in a pretty good place for the time being.)

In the end, it was Paulina Rubio who lost a team member as Carlos was sent home by America’s vote. Thanks to this, she now has the same exact number of team members as the rest of the judges in the competition. While there are a number of pretty inconsistent singers this season who could have left, this was the right move. Carlos just doesn’t have the same level of talent as some of the others, and it’s a shame since he seems like a pretty nice, soft-spoken guy. Our best advice to him would be to find a way to use his voice to help others as a teacher, or to sing as a part of a choir or a larger organization. We can’t really see him sadly having much of a solo career, though to be fair, there may only be a few contestants on this season who we could see doing albums after the fact.

Do you think that the right person in Carlos was sent home from the show? Share below, and click here if you want to read some more news related to the show. (We’ll have our full review of tonight’s episode there following it finishing.)
