‘True Blood’ season 7 spoilers: Stephen Moyer will direct premiere of show’s final season
Stephen Moyer is really finding himself as a busy jack-of-all-trades these days. Not only has the actor been hard at work these days preparing for NBC’s risky stage production of “The Sound of Music” on December 5, but he is going to go almost immediately from there to preparing for the “True Blood” season 7 premiere, which he is set to direct.
According to TVLine, Moyer will helm the first episode of the show’s final season, which is being billed as a very big one for the show (and not just because it is the first of what will be the end of the road. There are some major developments that could be coming our way in the hour, especially when you consider that it has to set the stage for the nine that follow it up (including the series finale). This is not the first time that Moyer has stepped behind the camera, as he has also directed episodes in both the fifth and sixth seasons.
The last time that we saw Bill, he seemed to at least be more or less back to his old vampire self following all of the insane events that took place during season 6. However, he did not have everything that he wanted in the slightest. Sookie Stackhouse is now in a committed relationship with Alcide, and she seems to be none too interested in actually being with vampires for a change. This is definitely a change of pace for the show, and one that it will have to tackle head-on. Bill and Sookie also have to worry about a series of Hepetitis V-infected vampires that are going to heading their way to Bon Temps a la some more messed-up version of “The Walking Dead.”
Ultimately, just know that this is going to be a very busy next nine months of life for Moyer, as he prepares to say goodbye to one significant part of it, and then hello to what is coming up around the bend with his wife / co-star Anna Paquin.
