‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 9 spoilers: Is there hope for Jackson and April? Sarah Drew says…

The April love triangle on “Grey’s Anatomy” right now is an interesting one, mostly because Shonda Rhimes has really constructed this in a way where you really cannot root for either Matthew or Jackson to fail at love. The two guys are both equally flawed, but neither one of them is a terrible human being. They each have obviously shown at they care about April a ton, and that they would want to make a relationship work with her. While Matthew is currently the frontrunner for her heart (thanks to the simple thing known as the engagement, plus Jackson’s own personal life), there’s still time for anything to happen.

Jackson / April fans should not give up hope just yet, and in case you want it made all the more clear, just see what Sarah Drew had to say recently in a chat with Wetpaint:

“Like she said in the re-proposal scene — she said, ‘Yeah, I have feelings for Jackson. I probably always will. He’s always going to be a part of my life, and it’s really confusing.’ So she made it clear, even in that scene, that there will always be something in her heart about Jackson. So I think for her right now… she wants to be a person who stands by her commitments. I think she, in her mind, 100 percent is gung-ho on getting married to Matthew. ‘Matthew is wonderful. We’re gonna make a life together.’ If there are lingering feelings for Jackson, it’s not something she’s deeply conscious of. I think she’s very much on the trajectory of, ‘This is what we do in our relationship. We move to the next step. The next step is we plan our wedding. Then the next step is this. Then our next step is that.'”

Even if April is moving on to those next steps, the lingering feelings could surface at almost any time. That’s what makes this situation interesting from a fan point of view is that on paper, Matthew is perfect for her, and it is a romance that would not be that complicated for April at all. However, Jackson may be the one that is actually right for her still, and that would be a mess in about a million different ways.
