‘The Following’ season 2 spoilers: ‘Suits’ alum tapped to recur

Who else is following Kevin Bacon to “The Following“? (Okay, terrible TV puns end here.) The answer to this question is Jacinda Barrett, a woman best known to this point for her roles on such shows as “Zero Hour” and “Suits.” As for what she will be bringing to the table with Kevin Bacon and company, the easiest way to answer that is that she will be finding a way to bring a new (and hopefully unique) brand of trouble to the proceedings.

Sources confirm that Barrett will recur on the Fox series as Julia, who is described as being a woman who is extremely talented at luring people in and often getting what she wants out of them. The problem that comes with that on “The Following” is that if you are quite skilled at these sort of things on this show, odds are that it means that you could very well be a killer or something else rather terrible. Therefore, Ryan Hardy is going to have his hands full trying to figure this one out.

“The Following” has already had a huge number of castings for the season, already including Master of Young Creepy People Sam Underwood (“Homeland”) as a possible new villain and Keith Carradine (who, like Underwood, worked on “Dexter”) as a friend for Bacon’s character. The show will return to Fox starting on Monday, January 20, where it will once again run for the span of 15 episodes consecutively over the course of the spring. Season 1 had some awesome moments, and it also at times ventured over into ridiculous territory. The challenge for the show the rest of the way will be finding a way to make viewers realize that it is okay if the show gets ridiculous, mostly because we are still being entertained the entire time.
