‘The X Factor’ USA: Fifth Harmony share Halloween treat via Spice Girls cover

Take a look -

While girl groups go back almost as far as music does, there is one that most modern pop groups tend to claim as at least one of their primary inspirations: The Spice Girls. Without hesitation, we have to admit that we get it. This group may not have been together for an extremely long period of time, but in the time in which they were a group, they managed to record some of the biggest songs in music, tour all over the globe, and even have a feature film. Every group wants to have that sort of success, but only a few can. Destiny’s Child is really the only girl group that can claim to have a similar sort of level of massive success.

So the latest group paying tribute to them, and on Halloween no less, is a group in Fifth Harmony that has formed a nice little following for themselves following their time on “The X Factor” last season. In a new video on the group’s official YouTube page, you can see them belting out a version of the group’s biggest hit “Wannabe” while each one is dressed as a member of the group. Everyone has their own fun little twist to the costume, and the performance is one of the better covers out there.

This performance does not come out long after the release of the group’s first EP in “Better Together,” which does now hold the honor of being the highest-charting debut for any act to come off of the American version of Simon Cowell’s singing competition. They still have a ways to go before they can really say that they are hit-makers for many years to come, but they at least do all seem like they are ladies who get along well and enjoy performing together. This year, they have spent a ton of time touring with Cher Lloyd, and they will be alongside Demi Lovato next year as she travels the country performing some of her recent hits.

The future for Fifth Harmony is still bright, and we are waiting to see whether they, Little Mix, or some other girl group lurking in the shadows right now will eventually become the heir apparent to the musical throne.
