‘True Blood’ actor (not Alexander Skarsgard) joins ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ movie
All year long, Alexander Skarsgard has been talked about as the one guy potentially from “True Blood” who could be joining the “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie. After hearing this news, do you think that it’s possible we have wasted too much time barking up the wrong tree?
According to a new report from Variety, actor Luke Grimes, who is fresh off of a multiple-episode arc on the HBO vampire drama playing the part of James (the love interest for Deborah Ann Woll’s Jessica who was forced into nearly-copulating in front of Jason Stackhouse by Sarah Newlin) has joined the film as Elliot, the brother of Christian Grey (Jamie Dorner).
Given the timetable for production of this movie, which starts not long before “True Blood” season 7, you have to wonder just whether or not this means that Grimes could be ruled out when it comes to having a major role in the season. To be fair, we’ve yet to really see him have much of a presence in the new “True Blood” window of time presented at the end of the season 6 finale, which was many months after James, Jessica, and the rest of the Vampire Camp prisoners were released. There is no word just yet as to what the story here is going to be, even if we know already that Jason will still be with the sadistic Violet, who will continue to torment him by any means necessary with the promise of something good happening for him in the future.
Should Skarsgard really be relieved over not being cast in the feature film? We’re starting to think so, as we wrote about earlier in the week. While there are some benefits obviously to being a part of the film (including money), there is also a sort of astronomical fame that some actors really do not want to deal with (just ask Charlie Hunnam). Skarsgard is going to get a bevy of roles regardless, so he really does not have too much to worry about here at all.
“True Blood” season 7 premieres on HBO next summer, whereas you can expect to see “Fifty Shades of Grey” in August of 2014, at least pending any sort of delay brought on by production.

There was no way Alex or any other big name in HW was going to touch this role with a ten foot pole. Poorly written Twilight fanfiction would be a kiss of death for any actor who actually has a career. They may have wanted Alex, but it was never going to happen. His management confirmed that to fan sites. Alex’s association with this crap-fest of a project was only a rumor drummed up to try to give it credibility.

His one manager, the one who deals with the fansites told the one in particular what they wanted to hear. Period. HIs agents at CAA were in talks with the production company. Fact. Alex would have done it had the script been any good, it is not.

Hey Janna, did you see a script. we would all love to see even a portion of it. I read they had a new scriptwriter on it who is extremely talented.
What sites did he confirm this to? I noticed one has gone under. Such a shame to loose good info.

If you had bothered to get your info correct, the producers of the film did want Skarsgard for the role. This tells me one thing. The script must suck big time. Alex had been saying since the beginning he would love to do the film IF the script was good. Evidently It is not ;) As for Luke Grimes, he is just another no body for this film. Another short one. The girl is going to have to be put into a hole to make the men look taller lololol As for the role of James in True Blood, it would not be missed at all.
