‘Game of Thrones’ season 4 spoilers: Who may help Bran Stark realize his visions?
The latest “Game of Thrones” casting news has arrived, and that may surprise you for one simple reason: That there is actually room in this cast for someone else to actually come on board.
According to a report via show site Winter Is Coming, “Law & Order: UK” alum Struan Rodger (who has the rare talent of having his first name sound more like a last name, and a last name that sounds more like a first name) is going to be appearing in the role of “Three-Eyed Raven.” This information is coming from a resume, and it’s possible that either the character’s name has changed from the books, or what was meant to be written was Three-Eyed Crow. This character has been hinted at in some various imagery on the show already, and will be integral in helping young Bran Stark figure out just why he is having so many visions, and what his ultimate purpose is.
Hopefully, this addition will end up making the Bran storylines much more interesting than what it currently is (which is probably one of the weaker storylines of the show). It basically feels like much of season 3 for him was spent meeting the Reeds, and then wandering around the countryside with them before having that tower encounter that ended up saving Jon Snow. There is some great stuff coming up for the character in the books, so we will just have to wait and see how much of it ends up getting carried over to the show.
“Game of Thrones” season 4 started filming earlier this summer, and has visited such countries as Northern Ireland (where its primary sets are), Dubrovnik, and also Iceland. The show should be done filming at the latest by early next month, which is a similar timeframe to season 3. The challenge now comes in trying to get all of the special effects and visuals added to make this into the great show that so many people adore.
