ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 6 spoilers: Who could be drawing the NYPD’s attention next?
“Castle” fans, be prepared for yet another interesting addition to the show. While this one doesn’t seem like they are going to push a wedge into the Castle / Beckett relationship, it still could be someone powerful enough to create some problems for an investigation in a non-romantic way.
TVLine reports that Annie Wersching of “24” fame is going to be guest-starring on at least one episode of the ABC stalwart, taking on the part of a plastic surgeon named Dr. Kelly Nieman, who is powerful, and has the sort of connection to a murder victim that makes the minds of many detectives look on in wonderment. Picture that there will be some interviews that take place here, and if Nieman is involved in the death somehow, also expect some pretty shrewd manipulation to go down.
In the end, not much else is known about the character right now, but given the caliber of the name there is at least going to be something of substance to the role. You’re not going to bring in someone with connections to an iconic show, and then just tell them to sit around and play innocent for a day. Just take a look at Lisa Edelstein, for example; while we imagine that there was so much more to her Agent McCord character (whose major arc on the show could be over now that Beckett is out of a job), she still got to at least do three episodes and play a role in the relationship of our two leading roles. Without her being there, who knows if Castle would have bitten off more than he could chew with the “Dreamworld” case. Also, Beckett could have been in way more trouble with the government without someone to reign her in a little bit.
This episode is a little ways down the road, and so with that in mind let’s focus on something that is a little bit more immediate. Take a look here at the sneak peek for Monday’s episode “Number One Fan,” which focuses somewhat on the question of what happens when someone who is a little bit too crazy about Castle suddenly finds themselves in a position of power.
