Ratings: ‘Super Fun Night,’ ‘ironside’ waste no time in falling; ‘The Tomorrow People’ starts okay
Meanwhile, we definitely expected something far less for “The Tomorrow People,” which was a mediocre pilot with mediocre characters. A 0.8 for an “original” superhero product (it’s a remake, but few viewers will know that) has to be considered a good start. But will these people stick around? We’d be shocked, given that the quality was not really up to par with the number. Then again, maybe the promise of abs will give people a reason to keep watching.
One thing we can say for sure: “Ironside” will not be on the spring schedule. This was a show that we don’t understand being picked up in the first place, and a 1.1 rating is atrocious. NBC’s Wednesday lineup is awful as always, with “Revolution” (1.5) on the skids and with “Law & Order: SVU” (1.6) already a shell of itself from a couple of weeks ago.
Even when you look at Wednesday’s schedule overall, this is turning out to be the weakest night of the week from Monday-Thursday. The biggest hit here is “Modern Family,” but it’s falling with a 3.8. Even the much-hyped “Super Fun Night” is already down to a 2.5, and we don’t see it lasting because it, like most other new shows on that night, is terrible. “Back in the Game” is the only one we consider to be “okay,” and with its 1.7 rating on ABC we don’t see it lasting.
