Ratings: ‘The Blacklist’ and ‘Sleepy Hollow’ dip while ‘We Are Men’ has disappointing start
Now, we present to you the latest example of ratings being relative when it comes to networks. While NBC was certainly hoping for “The Michael J. Fox Show” to get off to a big start, the series was still the top-rated comedy with just over a 2.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic. Meanwhile, CBS’ new series “We Are Men” is debuting with an audience that is only marginally lower, and it is hardly considered anything other than a disappointment.
This series started with a 2.0 rating, which is four-tenths lower than “Partners” scored last year in its premiere. In case you forgot, it didn’t take long for “Partners” to be shown the door. We don’t expect to see these men last very long unless they are actually able to keep this audience in some form in the weeks ahead. CBS’ Monday lineup has fallen apart slowly ever since moving “Two and a Half Men” to Thursdays. “How I Met Your Mother” (3.1) is now the anchor by a wide margin, “Mom” (2.2) is a letdown, and “Hostages” (1.5), while a good show, is looking like a flop.
Over on NBC, they clearly must be doing cartwheels right around now with the performance of some of their programming. “The Voice” stayed strong with a 4.6, which is a decline from last week but still easily the best of the night. Meanwhile, “The Blacklist” only lost two-tenths from the premiere to finish with a 3.6. If that isn’t a good sign for the rest of the season, we don’t know what else could be. Also worth noting here is that “Sleepy Hollow” barely fell at all to a 3.0, which to us screams that it should be given some sort of reassurance from Fox soon after three episodes that they finally have another hit drama to go along with “The Following” from earlier this year.
The last thing that we do want to point out here is that with a 2.0 rating, we could be seeing the end as we know it for “Dancing with the Stars” this year. It’s a shame given how popular this competition used to be, but not even a pretty good cast this year seems worthy of saving the show in the long run.
